A PT Cruiser was pushed off 138 Freeway by a Dump Truck, Tuesday, June 24, 2014, in the evening some time before 11:45 p.m. The accident occurred between 15 and 138 Freeways. Two passengers were killed. Three were injured. The dump truck was coming off 15 ramp and lost control. It crashed into a PT Cruiser which was going west on 138.
The car went under the truck, down an embankment and landed in the parking lot of a Shell gas station. The accident was described as a severe accident by the San Bernadino County Fire Department.
Of the two passengers that died, one was male and one was female. They both died immediately. The three remaining were all male. All were teens.
The victims were trapped underneath the truck for nearly two hours before it was possible for the Fire Department to remove them. One was taken to the arrowhead Region Medical Center by air. The other two were taken by ground.
The identity of the victims remain unreleased. The truck driver was uninjured.
An investigation is being conducted into the accident.
