A police chase ended violently Tuesday with the suspect’s vehicle colliding into a pedestrian and other vehicles. The incident happened Tuesday evening in Inglewood.
The chase, which lasted just four minutes, started when an SUV, driven by the suspect, was caught following a vehicle too closely. The California Highway Patrol then pursued the SUV that then sped off. The chase began shortly after 6:30 p.m. at Crenshaw Blvd. and the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway.
The SUV then got off at Century Blvd.
According to witnesses, the SUV, which allegedly reached speed up to 80 miles per hour, ran through several red lights before hitting a car and a pedestrian. After colliding with the car and the pedestrian, the SUV collided into another vehicle. The SUV then flipped over.
The suspect, the driver of one of the involved cars and the pedestrian were taken to area hospitals, but are all expected to survive. There conditions were not released. The name of the suspect, and the other injured were not immediately available.
A portion of Century Blvd. was closed to traffic for several hours as police and investigators worked on clearing up the scene.
