Multi-vehicle Collision in Pine Valley on I-8 Kills One Person

PINE VALLEY, CA (February 6, 2019) – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Pine Valley on I-8 in the early morning on Wednesday. The February 6 accident occurred near the Pine Valley Creek Bridge on the interstate’s westbound side.

The time was roughly 5:00 a.m.

California Highway Patrol said a pickup truck had crashed on the bridge’s side after having traveled over a slick spot where ice was located. Authorities found a body beneath the bridge. According to reports, a Good Samaritan pulled over and stopped, and tried to aid the victim. The victim had died. The identity of the victim—including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence—have not yet been reported.

No details have been reported on the other vehicles that were reported to have been involved in the crash, including the identities of the drivers and whether anyone else was hurt. The types of vehicles involved is not known from reports at this time. It is not known if there were any other occupants in any of the vehicles at the time of the crash.

Investigators are looking into the circumstances surrounding the accident to find out what caused it. They are examining details, information, data, and evidence to find out what happened.
