William Shelton Killed in Multi-vehicle Collision on 215 Freeway in Perris
PERRIS, CA (December 4, 2018) – William Shelton was killed in the evening on Saturday in a collision in Perris on the 215 Freeway. The December 1 accident involved three vehicles, which collided to the south of Placentia Avenue.
The time was roughly 7:20 p.m., according to Jody Hagemann. Hagemann is a public information officer with Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
The California Highway Patrol said that one vehicle—described as a sedan, dark in color—had overturned, and went from the freeway’s southbound side over to the northbound side.
Fire crews from Riverside County responded to the accident scene. According to Hagemann, respondents found one victim deceased on site. Another victim had suffered injuries that were described as minor.
Officials with the Riverside County Coroner identified the victim who died as William Shelton, who was a 54-year-old resident of Lemon Grove.
Reports do not yet include the names of the other people involved in the crash, the types of vehicles they were driving, and what types of injuries they suffered.
Investigators from the California Highway Patrol are looking into the information to determine what caused the incident.
