Bakersfield Pedestrian Struck by Hit-and-run Driver on Wible Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 21, 2021) – On Thursday morning in Bakersfield, a pedestrian was struck by a hit-and-run driver and suffered injuries. The May 20 crash happened in south Bakersfield, on Wible Road where Belle Terrace is located.

The time was roughly 8:46 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.

No details have been reported on how the crash happened, the line of travel the vehicle prior to striking the person, nor a description of the vehicle. The driver did not stop to help the victim, but left the crash site.

Responders arrived and found the pedestrian had been injured in the crash. The types of injuries the person suffered, and the victim’s current condition, have not yet been reported.

The identity of the pedestrian–including name, age, gender, and city of residence–has also not been reported.

The suspect hit-and-run driver has not been described. Investigators are searching for the vehicle, and the suspect driver. They are working to collect information about the incident.
