Vehicle Hits Light Pole, Knocking Down Power Lines on Highway 101 Off-ramp in Paso Robles

PASO ROBLES, CA (March 21, 2019) – A vehicle crashed early in the morning on Wednesday, striking a light pole and knocking down power lines on an off-ramp of Highway 101 in Paso Robles. The March 20 accident occurred on the Paso Robles Street off-ramp on the northbound side of Highway 101.

The time was roughly a bit before 5:00 a.m.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the vehicle—which has not been described—struck the light pole, and the impact knocked down power lines. Reports say that no one was injured in the crash. The person who had been driving the vehicle at the time of the crash has not been identified, including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence. It is not known if anyone else had been traveling in the vehicle. The type of damage to the vehicle caused by the crash has not been reported.

Paso Robles Police Department said that employees from PG&E were going to respond to the accident scene. Authorities closed the off-ramp for a time.

Investigators are looking into the details and information to find out why the accident happened. No details have yet been reported on the circumstances leading to the crash. The investigation is continuing.
