Man Killed in Two-vehicle Collision in Pasadena
PASADENA, CA (June 14, 2019) – Timonthy Jon Carey was killed early in the morning on Thursday in a collision in Pasadena. The June 13 incident occurred where Villa Street and El Molino Avenue intersect.
The time was 6:40 a.m., according to Nani Cholakians. Cholakians is a lieutenant with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examinher-Coroner.
According to reports, Carey had been driving a vehicle described as a Kia, heading westbound on Villa Street, Jason Clawson said. Clawson is a commander with the Pasadena Police.
In the intersection, Carey’s car collided with another vehicle. The force of the collision tore the door from the driver’s side, and Carey was thrown into the street, according to Clawson. Responders arrived and pronounced Carey deceased at the accident site. He was 51 years old and a resident of Pasadena.
A person in the Kia who had been a passenger suffered injuries that were characterized as minor. The occupants of the other vehicle, which has not been described, suffered injuries which were described as serious. The two people—described only as a driver and a passenger—have not been identified. Their current condition is not known.
The person who had been driving the other vehicle stayed at the accident site, reports say, and cooperated with the investigation. According to Max Dahlstein, who is a lieutenant with Pasadena Police, it seemed that one of the vehicles drove through a light that was red before the collision, but which vehicle that was has not yet been determined.
