Pasadena Crash on 210 Freeway Kills Driver of Big Rig
PASADENA, CA (September 12, 2018) – A crash in Pasadena on Tuesday killed the driver of a big rig. The accident occurred on the 210 Freeway in the westbound lanes, not far from Lake Avenue, Alex Rubio said. Rubio is an officer with the California Highway Patrol.
The time of the crash was roughly 6:30 p.m.
Lisa Derderian, who is a spokesperson with the Pasadena Fire Department, said the man who had been driving the big rig was pronounced deceased at the accident scene.
When responders arrived, they treated a person who had been in another vehicle. That person’s injuries were described as minor. Good Samaritans who were at the site of the crash tried to help the big rig driver out of the wrecked truck right after the incident occurred.
The big rig had overturned, and was upside down. No other details were yet reported as to how many other vehicles may have been involved, or other persons who may have been injured.
Investigators are continuing their search into the details of the crash to determine its causes.
