PALMDALE, CA (November 21, 2018) – Jessica Ordaz was killed on Thursday in a collision in Palmdale involving a school principal suspected of driving under the influence. The November 16 accident occurred on 50 Street East, to the north of Avenue P.
The time was roughly 6:50 p.m.
According to reports, a Jeep Wrangler had been traveling south on the street at a speed that is not known. The Jeep collided with a Mazda 3 head on. California Highway Patrol says that Jessica Ordaz, a 29-year-old resident of Lancaster, died at the accident scene.
Mary Kruppe, a 35-year-old resident of Pearblossom, was identified as the person driving the Jeep Wrangler. Respondents took Kruppe to the hospital. Her injuries were described as moderate.
Kruppe is a principal at Enterprise Elementary School in the Eastside Union School District.
Authorities believe alcohol played a role in the collision. Kruppe was arrested, reports say.
