Tow Truck and CHP Unit Struck on Shoulder of 15 Freeway in Ontario
ONTARIO, CA (January 16, 2019) – A vehicle crashed Tuesday night into a tow truck and a California Highway Patrol unit that were located on the shoulder of the 15 Freeway in Ontario. The January 15 accident occurred on the southbound freeway’s side, near Jurupa Avenue and to the north of it.
The time was roughly 8:40 p.m.
Reports say Ontario firefighters saw the crash happen on the freeway’s shoulder. The tow truck and CHP unit had been located on the right side of the freeway at the time of the crash.
It is not clear from reports why the tow truck and CHP unit were located at the right shoulder, and if they were helping a disabled vehicle before another vehicle crashed into them. Reports say minor injuries resulted, but it is not clear who was injured, and what the injuries were.
