Driver in Ontario Runs Red Light and Hits Semi Truck; Dies at the Scene
ONTARIO, CA (September 19, 2018) – A man who ran through a red light in Ontario on Tuesday died when his vehicle hit a semi, according to police. The September 18 accident occurred on Chino Avenue.
The time was roughly 12:45 p.m.
According to reports, the driver—identified as a man 40 years old, and a resident of Los Angeles—had been speeding as he traveled on Chino Avenue heading east. He did not stop at the red light where Euclid Avenue intersects Chino. His vehicle struck a semi truck that had been traveling north on Euclid, Ontario Police say.
The man, whose identity has not been released, died at the accident scene.
The person who had been driving the semi truck, identified as a man 38 years old of Rialto, was not hurt in the collision.
