Oceanside Crash on I-5 Near Camp Pendleton Kills Motorcyclist
OCEANSIDE, CA (January 19, 2021) – On Saturday afternoon in Oceanside, a collision on I-5 near Camp Pendleton killed a motorcyclist. The January 16 incident occurred on the northbound side of the freeway, close to Pulgas Canyon Road.
According to reports, a person reported to the California Highway Patrol that a sedan, blue in color, was in the center divider area of the freeway. According to the person who reported to authorities, the car drove on and the motorcycle was lying on the roadway.
The person reporting said they did not see the collision happen. Authorities have not confirmed this scenario of the crash.
The person riding the motorcycle died. The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
Investigators are working to understand how the crash happened, and they are currently collecting information and details.
