OAKLAND, CA (June 26, 2018) – Detron Nelson has been identified as the victim who was hit by a BART train near East 10th and East 8th streets in East Oakland on June 18.
The six-car BART train struck Nelson around 11:35 a.m. The train was running northbound on the Fremont-Warm Springs line.
Firefighters pronounced the 22-year-old deceased after they removed his body from underneath the train.
Officials are investigating the leading cause of this crash and asking anyone with information to contact them.
