Collision with Vehicle Sends Big Rig Smashing into North Hollywood Liquor Store
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA (December 24, 2019) – Early Monday morning, a vehicle collided with a big rig in North Hollywood, which sent the truck to smash into a liquor store. The December 23 incident occurred in the vicinity of Sherman Way and Lankershim Boulevard.
The time was roughly 3:20 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The driver of the big rig reported the truck went out of his control after a vehicle—which had been going at a fast speed and ran through the red light—hit him. The truck then smashed into the liquor store.
The driver of the big rig was identified as Francisco Aparicio. The driver of the vehicle—described as a four-door sedan, white in color—has not been identified, including name, age, gender, and city of residence.
Responders transported the person who had been driving the car to a hospital. The types of injuries the person suffered, and the current condition, are not known.
It is not clear if Aparicio was hurt in the incident.
The liquor store was damaged in the crash. The owner of the building has not been identified.
Investigators are continuing to gather information and details regarding the incident.
