Thirty-one Vehicles Burn on Hoover Avenue in National City
NATIONAL CITY, CA (August 29, 2019) – On Tuesday afternoon, a fire on a private lot in National City burned 31 vehicles. The August 27 incident occurred at 3131 Hoover Avenue, located northeast of SR-54 and I-5.
The time was roughly 12:45 p.m., according to authorities.
Reports say firefighters responded to the incident and worked to extinguish the flames. According to the California Highway Patrol, as many as 31 vehicles burned. None of the vehicles have been described.
People who were inside buildings close to the conflagration were told by authorities to shut off air conditioning, and shelter in place.
