Multiple Crashes Occur on Southern California Roads on Rainy Monday Commute

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, CA (April 29, 2019) – The morning commute on Monday in Southern California was made more difficult owing to rainy roads and multiple crashes. The April 29 collisions occurred in different areas in the region.

Early in the morning, at roughly 2:00 a.m., a vehicle went onto an embankment where Main Street and Santa Ana Boulevard intersect in Santa Ana. Reports say the accident knocked down a light pole and a sign. It is not known from reports who the driver was, including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence. Reports do not say if the person was hurt, and if anyone else had been traveling in the vehicle at the time of the crash. The vehicle has not been described, and it is not known why the crash occurred.

At roughly 3:30 a.m. in Riverside, a multi-vehicle collision occurred on the 91 Freeway in the lanes that head east. Four vehicles were reported to have collided in an area close to Adams Street. At a little before 4:30 a.m., a big rig traveling on the 5 Freeway in Sun Valley jackknifed in the northbound lanes, close to Sunland Boulevard. A crash in South Los Angeles caused one vehicle to rollover and land on its roof. The incident occurred close to where South Avalon Boulevard and East Vernon Avenue intersect.
