Hit-and-run Driver Strikes Bicyclist in Montclair; Police Make Arrest in Pomona

MONTCLAIR, CA (December 10, 2018) – A hit-and-run driver struck a bicyclist Saturday evening in Montclair, seriously injuring him. The December 8 accident occurred close to where Central Avenue and Orchard Street intersect, according to Montclair Police.

The time was roughly 7:30 p.m.

Reports say that officers arrived on scene and found the victim lying in the road, unconscious. Respondents took the critically injured man to a hospital. His condition was reported as critical still on Sunday.

Police later located a vehicle they suspect was involved in the hit-and-run accident, concealed in a residence’s backyard in Pomona. The person who was suspected of driving the vehicle when the hit-and-run accident occurred was identified as Alejandro Lopez Cuevas, an 18 year old. Cuevas was arrested on suspicion of felony hit and run.

Police ask that if anyone has information regarding the accident, he or she should call 909-621-4771.

Investigators are continuing to look into the details and information.
