Two Men Killed in Crash Near Mojave; Deputy Injured
MOJAVE, CA (December 11, 2019) – Fernando Ramirez and Michael John Ferialdi were killed in a head-on crash in Mojave early in the morning on Saturday. The December 7 incident occurred on Highway 14, near Robbers Roost and to the south of it.
The time was roughly 2:00 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
Reports say two vehicles—described as a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and a sheriff’s patrol vehicle—collided head on. Responders arrived and found that two people who had been traveling in the front of the Tacoma—the driver and a passenger—had died at the incident site.
They were identified as Ramirez and Ferialdi. Both victims were 33 years old. A person who had been traveling in the back seat got out of the vehicle by himself.
Responders transported the victim to Antelope Valley Hospital. He was identified as Paul Padilla, 30 years old. The types of injuries he suffered, and his current condition, is not known.
Responders transported the sheriff’s deputy to a hospital. The types of injuries the deputy suffered, and current condition, is not known. The identity of the deputy, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
