Man Walking in Lanes on 215 Freeway in Menifee is Struck and Killed

MENIFEE, CA (April 10, 2019) – A man who was walking on the 215 Freeway in Menifee late at night on Saturday was struck and killed. The April 6 accident occurred in the lanes of traffic.

The time was roughly 11:20 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.

Reports say the CHP began receiving calls that a man was walking on the freeway about five minutes before the man was hit. Respondents from the California Highway Patrol in Temecula and Murietta Fire Department arrived to help. The victim died at the site of the accident.

The identity of the man, including his name, age, and city of residence has not been reported. According to the CHP, officials are working with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Coroner’s Bureau to identify the victim.

The person who had been driving the vehicle that struck the man remained at the accident scene and cooperated with the investigation. The driver’s identity has not been reported, including name, age, gender, and city of residence. It is not known if anyone else had been traveling in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
