Woman Killed When Driver Smashes into Her Vehicle in Hyde Park Area of Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA (June 4, 2019) – A driver suspected of DUI smashed into a woman’s vehicle early in the morning on Tuesday in Los Angeles, killing her. The June 4 incident occurred on Crenshaw Boulevard close to West 50th Street, in the area of Hyde Park.
The time was roughly 12:30 a.m.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the woman had been in a vehicle that was stopped on Crenshaw Boulevard. Another vehicle smashed into the woman’s vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle is suspected to have been driving under the influence (DUI).
The force of the collision shoved the woman’s vehicle into a light pole, knocking it down. Respondents arrived and pronounced the woman deceased at the accident site. Her identity, including name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.
A third vehicle, which had been parked on the street, was damaged in the incident. Reports say it is not currently known the speed the vehicle of the suspect DUI driver had been traveling when the collision occurred.
The person who is suspected of driving DUI has not been identified by name, age, or city of residence. Respondents transported her to a hospital in the area. According to reports, police arrested her on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
