Vehicle Falls Off Parking Structure in Los Angeles and Crashes onto Vehicle Below; Driver Injured
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 21, 2020) – On Thursday afternoon, a vehicle fell off of a parking structure in Los Angeles, and crashed onto a vehicle below, injuring the driver. The February 20 incident occurred at 100 N. La Cienega Boulevard, where the Beverly Connection is located.
The time was roughly 1:20 p.m., according to Los Angeles Police.
Reports say a vehicle—described as a BMW SUV—had been on the third floor of the parking structure, and while the driver was attempting to park, the vehicle fell off after going through safety cables. The BMW overturned, and landed upside down on top of another vehicle—described as a Nissan SUV, according to Benjamin Zucker. Zucker is a sergeant with the Los Angeles Police.
Responders arrived and took the driver of the BMW to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The driver suffered injuries that were described as minor. The current condition of the person is not known.
The driver of the Nissan was not injured in the incident. Neither driver has been identified in reports.
Investigators are working to understand how the crash happened.
