Pedestrians Injured by Hit-and-run Driver on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 24, 2020) – Two pedestrians were injured by a hit-and-run driver early in the morning on Monday in Los Angeles’ Echo Park area. The February 24 incident occurred where White Knoll Drive and Sunset Boulevard intersect.
The time was roughly a little before 1:00 a.m., Los Angeles Police said.
Reports say video from a surveillance camera captured a vehicle—described as a sedan, dark in color—heading down the street, leaving two people who can be seen falling. According to reports, the person driving the vehicle comes to a stop for roughly 10 seconds before leaving the incident site.
Responders from Los Angeles Fire arrived and took the victims to a hospital. The victims were described as a wife and husband. One of the victims—a man who may be in his early 70s—suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to reports. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
The other victim—a woman who may be in her late 50s—suffered severe injuries, according to reports. Her condition is serious. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
The two victims had not been walking within a crosswalk that is marked when the incident occurred, according to police.
Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved—which has not been described—and the driver. The driver has also not been described.
