According to officials with the Los Angeles Police Department, video showed that the driver—identified as Rosario Valdezina, a 38 year old—had been traveling eastbound on 6th Street when she hit the pedestrian. Police said the pedestrian had been running across the road in a crosswalk that is marked. Reports say the pedestrian—identified as a man—was attempting to catch a bus.
