Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-run Crash in South Los Angeles on Vermont Ave.; Suspect Sought
LOS ANGELES, CA (December 8, 2020) – The suspected hit-and-run driver who fatally injured a pedestrian last week in South Los Angeles is being sought by authorities. The December 1 incident occurred in the neighborhood of Vermont Vista, on Vermont Avenue near 92nd Street.
The time was roughly 1:41 a.m., California Highway Patrol said.
The person driving the vehicle–described as a sedan, black in color–did not stop to help the victim, but fled the crash site.
The victim suffered injuries that were fatal. The identity of the victim, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved, and the suspect driver, who has not been described. They ask that if anyone has information about the crash, the person will call authorities and speak with Investigator Komoda or Investigator Parilla. The number is 310-642-3939.
