Multi-vehicle Collision on 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles Injures Seven

LOS ANGELES, CA (August 13, 2020) – On Wednesday night in South Los Angeles, a multi-vehicle crash on the 110 Freeway injured seven people. The August 12 incident occurred on the southbound side of the freeway, close to West Adams Boulevard.

The time was roughly a little after 8:00 p.m., the California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles Fire Department said.

Reports say multiple vehicles collided, but the types of vehicles, and the exact number have not been reported. The manner in which the vehicles collided has also not been described.

It is not known from reports who the driver of each vehicle had been, nor how many people were in each vehicle.

Responders arrived and transported seven people to a hospital. Four people were described as in critical condition. Among those in critical condition are a girl, 6 years old; a girl, 3 years old; a girl, 8 months old; and a woman, 27 years old.

Other victims included three people who suffered injuries that were described as not life-threatening. Among those were a girl, 10 years old; a girl, 11 years old; and a woman, 34 years old.

Two other victims did not want to go to a hospital. None of the people involved in the crash have been identified.

Investigators are working to understand why the crash happened.
