McLaren Sports Car Crashes Near Mayor’s Mansion in Los Angeles, Killing Passenger
LOS ANGELES, CA (June 15, 2020) – Late Friday night, a crash involving a McLaren sports car near the mayor’s mansion in Los Angeles killed one person. The June 12 incident occurred in the area of Windsor Square.
The time was roughly 11:30 p.m., according to Officer Chaves of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Reports say the McLaren had been traveling in the vicinity of Irving Boulevard and 6th Street and was accelerating when it went out of the driver’s control. The vehicle smashed into a tree, according to reports.
Responders arrived and worked to extricate the victims from the wreckage. They transported two people to a hospital in the area.
The passenger was pronounced deceased in the hospital. The identity of the person–including name, age, gender, and city of residence–has not been reported.
The condition of the driver is not known. The driver was identified only as 31 years old. The name, gender, and city of residence of the driver has not been reported.
Investigators are continuing their work of gathering information and details to understand the crash.
