House in Mount Washington Neighborhood of Los Angeles Hit by Cement Truck
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 3, 2019) – A house in Los Angeles’ Mount Washington neighborhood was damaged in the morning on Saturday when a cement truck smashed into it. The truck, which did not have a driver in it, struck the house located on Glenalbyn Drive in the 3800 block.
The time was roughly 10:30 a.m. on August 31, according to Cody Weireter. Weireter is a captain with the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Reports say the truck went rolling down a hill and smashed into the front of the house, hitting the area where the garage was located. One occupant of the house, identified as a woman, had been inside a room right over the garage when the incident happened. Her identity has not been reported.
The residents were able to leave the house uninjured, reports say.
According to Weireter, the truck damaged a power pole, and a guy-wire was tangled with the wrecked vehicle.
The owners of the house have not been identified in reports.
Investigators are working to collect details and information to understand what led to the incident. No details are known regarding why the cement truck began to roll before it struck the house.
