Hit-and-run Driver Kills Pedestrian in Los Angeles’ North Hills Neighborhood
LOS ANGELES, CA (August 5, 2019) – A woman who was walking in Los Angeles’ North Hills neighborhood early in the morning on Sunday was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver. The August 4 incident occurred near the intersection of Haskell Avenue and Roscoe Boulevard.
The time was roughly midnight, according to Benyamin Sadeh. Sadeh is a detective with the traffic division of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Reports say the woman had been walking across the street, not within a crosswalk, and a vehicle, which had been traveling westbound on Roscoe Boulevard, hit her.
Responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived to help the woman. She was pronounced deceased at the accident site. She was identified only as 44 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
According to authorities, the vehicle involved in the incident may be black in color and have front-end damage. No other description of the vehicle has been reported. The driver involved in the incident has not been described.
Investigators are continuing their work to locate the vehicle and the driver.
