Hit-and-run Crash in South Los Angeles near E. 106th Street Kills Woman
LOS ANGELES, CA (October 9, 2020) – Early in the morning on Thursday, a woman was struck and killed, and possibly dragged by a hit-and-run driver in South Los Angeles. The October 8 incident occurred in the vicinity of South Avalon Boulevard and East 106 Street, in the neighborhood of Green Meadows.
The time was roughly 4:30 a.m., according to police.
Responders arrived and found the victim down on the road. They pronounced her deceased at the incident site.
She was identified only as in her 30s to 40s. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
The vehicle involved in the crash has not been described. Authorities think the vehicle may have struck the victim on East 108th Street, and dragged her body, or carried her body on the vehicle to the location where she was found by responders, according to Jon Pinto. Pinto is a captain and commanding officer with the Los Angeles Police Department.
Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved in the crash, and the suspect driver. If anyone has information about the incident, the person can contact Los Angeles Police. The number is 323-421-2500.
