Driver of Suspected Stolen Vehicle Hits Police Vehicle During Pursuit in Los Angeles; Officers Hurt
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 3, 2020) – On Friday night, the driver of a vehicle that was suspected stolen struck a police vehicle while fleeing pursuit in Los Angeles. The police vehicle that was struck had not been the pursuit vehicle in the January 31 incident.
The time was roughly 11:00 p.m.
Reports say the incident began when officers pursued the suspected stolen vehicle. The suspect driver went through a light that was red in the area of 76th Street and San Pedro Street in the Florence neighborhood, and hit a police vehicle that had not been involved in the pursuit.
Responders arrived and transported the officers who had been in the vehicle that was struck to a hospital. The condition of the officers has not been reported, nor the types of injuries they suffered.
The number of officers who were hurt has also not been reported, nor their identities.
The suspect driver was arrested, according to Los Angeles Police. The identity of the suspect, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
