Two Teenaged Boys Struck and Injured in Long Beach at MLK Ave Intersection
LONG BEACH, CA (January 15, 2020) – On Tuesday morning, two teenaged boys were struck and seriously injured at an intersection in Long Beach. The January 14 incident occurred where Martin Luther King Junior Avenue and East 15th Street intersect.
The time was roughly 6:55 a.m., Long Beach police said.
Reports say the two boys had been walking across the street and a vehicle—described as a van—struck them.
Responders arrived and took one victim to Saint Mary Medical Center, and the other victim to Long Beach Memorial. The injuries they suffered were described as critical. Their condition was described as stable, according to the Long Beach Fire Department.
The two boys were identified only as 17 and 18 years of age. Their names have not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle stayed at the incident site and cooperated with investigators. The identity of the driver, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
