Suspect Fleeing Police Pursuit Crashes into Vehicle in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, CA (January 17, 2020) – A suspect fleeing police pursuit crashed into another vehicle in Long Beach on Thursday night. The January 16 incident occurred close the where Anaheim Street and Long Beach Boulevard intersect.
The time was roughly 6:30 p.m.
Reports say the incident began when officers tried to pull a driver over who was suspected of having been involved in a shooting on East 15th Street in the 3600 block, according to Alvino Herrera. Herrera is a sergeant with Long Beach Police.
The driver did not stop, and officers pursued. At the intersection of Anaheim Street and Long Beach Boulevard, the suspect’s vehicle collided with another vehicle, which has not been described.
Reports do not say if anyone was hurt in the incident. The driver of the vehicle that was struck has not been identified in reports, including name, age, gender, and city of residence. It is not known if anyone had been a passenger when the crash occurred.
