Hit-and-run Driver Kills Woman in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, CA (October 29, 2018) – Early in the morning on Sunday, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a woman. The October 28 accident occurred on East Second Street in the 5500 block.
The time was roughly 1:30 a.m., according to Ben Hearst. Hearst is an officer with the Long Beach Police Department.
According to reports, a woman had been walking on Second Street’s center median, not far from Tivoli Drive, just prior to the accident. The woman fell into the road of Second Street, in the eastbound number one lane.
Reports say a pickup truck had been witnessed stopping before it struck the victim. After the truck hit the woman, the driver left the scene.
Responders transported the victim—identified as a resident of Anaheim, 22 years old—to a hospital in the area. Authorities pronounced her deceased.
The vehicle the suspect was driving was a work truck, white in color. It could be a Ford F-150. In the bed, it had a silver-colored box for tools. The driver’s side had an unidentified emblem.
