Having a fast luxury car does not mean you are above the law. The tendency of many drivers who own a sports car is to speed down freeways and side streets. While it is tempting to step on the gas pedal in a nice and fast car, drivers must be mindful of other vehicles around them and not only their safety, but other drivers and passengers’ safety.

This past weekend, a driver in a Lamborghini was involved in a car accident. Lamborghinis are high-end cars which can catch the eyes of other drivers and passengers out on the road. Known for their speed, style, and expensive cost, Lamborghinis sure can be distracting but also dangerous. Just ask the driver of the luxury car after he was involved in the accident. A 35-year old driver crashed his 2008 Lamborghini on Saturday, October 6.

Going at about 100 miles per hour, the driver crashed his vehicle into the center median on the Interstate 15 in northern San Diego County. After the collision, the Lamborghini exploded in flames. The driver, a resident from San Marcos, may have been driving under the influence.

DUI accidents are not to be taken lightly. While this man only obtained personal injury on himself, many DUI situations end up hurting innocent victims as well. Driving while intoxicated is extremely dangerous and can cause personal injury cases or even wrongful death accidents.

After the Lamborghini driver crashed his luxury car, he had to be taken to the hospital by helicopter. He was treated for burns on his face and other serious personal injuries.

California Highway Patrol officers who investigated the scene have concluded that the driver was heading north when his car drifted from the right lane and then hit the center median. The collision happened near Fallbrook, just north of Mission Road. After the accident, the northbound and southbound lanes of the I-15 freeway were shut down for about 20 minutes. Information about the driver’s identity has not been released.

While the Lamborghini burst in flames, the driver was being taken to the hospital to cure his injuries. Alcohol and cars should never be mixed, much more a luxury car. If you have been involved in a car accident, contact a personal injury attorney today.
