Victims Who Died in Head-on Collision in Lake Elsinore Identified by Coroner
LAKE ELSINORE, CA (September 10, 2018) – The three women who died in a head-on collision near Lake Elsinore on Friday were identified by the Riverside County coroner’s office.
Tatiana Roach, a 47-year-old resident of Riverside, died in the head-on collision. She had been the only person in the gold Honda that was involved in the crash, according to officials with the Riverside County Sheriff and the coroner.
Claudia Goldstein, a 51-year-old resident of Temecula, and Janee Briscoe, a 31-year-old resident of Temecula had been traveling in a silver Nissan.
The collision occurred east of Lake Elsinore when the Honda, which had been traveling easbound, and the Nissan, which had been traveling westbound, crashed head-on on state Route 74. The accident site was located where the city limits of Lake Elsinore ends, and Meadowbrook, an unincorporated community begins. The time was roughly 1:20 p.m., California Highway Patrol said.
People who witnessed the collision said one of the cars immediately caught on fire after the collision, which occurred close to where SR 74 intersects with Trellis Lane.
Firefighters from the Riverside County Fire Department arrived on scene within minutes after the crash. They put out the fire and worked to extricate the victims.
According to the coroner’s office, the three women were pronounced deceased at the accident scene.
What caused the accident to occur is not yet known.
