La Puente Woman Injured After Driver Crashes into Her Bedroom

LA PUENTE, CA (May 13, 2019) – Grace Fierro was asleep in her bed in La Puente when a car crashed into her bedroom and almost crushed her late Sunday night. The May 12 incident occurred on North Molinar Avenue in the 1000 block.

The time was a bit before midnight.

Reports say a vehicle, described as a 2013 BMW, went out of the driver’s control. According to James Long, who is a lieutenant with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the vehicle then smashed through a wall of cinder blocks and crashed into the house’s bedroom where Fierro was sleeping.

According to Fierro, the impact threw her from bed before she was cognizant of what was happening. Fierro’s husband, David Fierro, had been watching TV in a different room when the crash happened. According to David, he could not enter the bedroom after the collision.

Respondents arrived on scene and worked to extricate Fierro from her bedroom. They transported her to a hospital. Reports say she was treated and released.

No details have been reported on the identity of the person who was driving the vehicle, including name, age, gender, and city of residence. According to Long, the driver could face charges that include felony hit-and-run.

The details are being examined and investigators are not clear on the speed the car was traveling at the time of the incident. The investigation is continuing.
