Vehicle Strikes and Kills Pedestrian Walking Across State Route 94 in La Mesa
LA MESA, CA (February 3, 2020) – On Sunday night, a pedestrian who was walking across a freeway in La Mesa was struck and killed. The February 2 incident occurred on State Route 94, near College Avenue and to the east of it.
The time was roughly 9:00 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Reports say the person had been walking across the lanes that head west when a vehicle struck the person. The victim was killed. The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the incident has not been identified, and the vehicle has not been described. It is not known if anyone else was hurt in the incident.
Investigators are working to understand why the crash happened, and why the person was walking across the freeway. They are continuing their efforts to collect details and information regarding the accident.
