LA HABRA, CA – Two Injured In Three Car Crash During Police Chase on Imperial Highway

LA HABRA, CA (June 26, 2018) – A patrol car hit two sport utility vehicles during a chase on Friday, June 22. The collision caused a La Habra police officer and another person to suffer minor injuries.
The chase began around 12:23 a.m., according to La Habra police Capt. George Johnstone, when an officer tried to pull over a car for a traffic violation on Imperial Highway.
According to Johnstone, the officer was following the car on Imperial Highway at Idaho Stree when the officer hit another vehicle then crashed into a third vehicle. Johnstone said the officer and another person suffered minor injuries.
Reports have not yet made available the identity of the second person who was injured. It is also not yet known if the victim was a driver or passenger in the SUVs that were hit.
The vehicle that the police was chasing fled the scene.
The three vehicles involved in the accident were a La Habra police car, a 2011 white Ford Explorer and a 1998 Chevrolet Suburban, according to Sgt. William Fitzgerald of the CHP’s Westminster office, California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident at the request of the La Habra police.
