L.A. Dodgers Player Involved in Maserati Crash

Dodger’s player James Loney was traveling in Maserati on the 101 Freeway near the Sepulveda exit when he struck three cars.
Loney was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, but his tests came back negative and he was released.
The accident began at 6 p.m. on November 14, when Loney crashed his car into a Toyota, then a Mercedes and a Mini.
He apparently tried to drive away from the scene, but he hit another car and could not travel any further.
One of the crash victims said that she felt someone sideswipe her car. She thought the driver of the car was unconscious because of the way his car was drifting and meandering through the lanes.
She says she went to check on him after his car came to a stop against the embankment. When she reached the vehicle, the car door was locked, the music was on full blast and the driver had ear buds in.
She reached through the window to unlock the door and take his ear buds out, but he was unresponsive to everything.
Suddenly, he woke up and started the engine frantically, according to the other crash victim. He then took off and drove into another car on the other side of the freeway.
She says that she did not smell alcohol, but that Loney was not acting normally.
When the police arrived, he was still acting strangely. The police report describes him as “restless, unsteady, aggressive and irritable.”
After undergoing tests for drugs and alcohol, the hospital determined that he was acting out as a result of head trauma.
Several other people were injured in the accident.
