Jaws of Life Free Trapped Hemet Man

A driver is trapped inside his crushed Honda Accord shortly after a head-on collision with a full size Chevrolet Saturday March, 10th in Hemet. Fire department officials use Jaws of Life to free the victim.

The truck crossed the median into oncoming traffic on Ramona Expressway between Eagle and San Jacinto Ave. It sideswiped an SUV before colliding head-on with the sedan. The impact and speed of the truck did major damage to the sedan. The collision crushed the doors and prevented them from opening, trapping its driver inside his vehicle.
Rescuers were forced to use The Jaws of Life to pry the dismantled car open. Once extricated, the driver of the Honda was airlifted to the hospital where he was treated for major injuries. He suffered from a shattered pelvis and broken kneecaps. The truck and SUV drivers did not suffer major injuries and were transported to the same hospital by ground.
The accident remains under investigation. Witnesses are encouraged to contact San Jacinto Police Department if they have any information regarding to the accident.
