Imperial, CA – Head-on Collision Injures Martin Castrellon and Emily Suarez

IMPERIAL, CA (July 30, 2018) – Martin Castrellon and Emily Suarez were injured in a head-on collision involving two vehicles Tuesday mornng in Imperial.

The accident occurred on Carter Road at roughly 6:05 a.m. on July 24.

California Highway Patrol says that Emily Suarez, described as a 30 year old, was driving a 2009 Nissan on Carter Road and heading west. She stopped at Forrester Road.

The report says that Martin Castrellon, described as a 54 year old, was driving a Jeep, and heading north on Forrester Road. A little bit south of Carter Road, he was traveling 55 miles per hour.

Suarez said, according to a report, that she looked in both the right and left directions before driving into the intersection. The path of her Nissan and the vehicle of Castrellon collided. Suarez said in the report that she did not see him.

According to a report by officials, the Jeep’s front collided with the Nissan’s left side on the front. Both vehicles spun out due to the impact, and finally stopped a little north of Carter Road.

Major damage to the front end of both vehicles was observed. Responders took Suarez to Desert Regional Medical Center by ambulance.

The report says a victim was taken to a hospital by air transport. Seatbelts were worn by both victims who suffered injuries that were characterized as moderate.

Investigators are continuing their search into the accident details.
