Imperial Beach Crash on 13th Street Injures Pedestrian
IMPERIAL BEACH, CA (September 3, 2020) – On Tuesday night in Imperial Beach, a pedestrian was struck and injured by a vehicle. The September 1 incident occurred on 13th Street, near Imperial Beach Boulevard and to the south of it.
The time was roughly 8:25 p.m., according to Roberta Posada Jr. Posada is a sergeant with the Sheriff’s Department.
A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, reports say, but it is not clear where the person had been walking when the crash occurred. The line of travel of the vehicle–described as a Honda Civic–has not been described.
Responders transported the injured man to the hospital. His injuries were described as serious, including injuries to his head. His current condition is not known.
He was identified only as 81 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
The person who had been driving the Honda remained at the incident site and cooperated with the investigation. The driver has not been identified in reports.
Investigators will continue to work on gathering information to understand the circumstances of the crash, and why it happened.
