Hit-and-run Driver Critically Injures Teen Boy on Bike in Huntington Park
HUNTINGTON PARK, CA (June 27, 2019) – A hit-and-run driver struck and critically injured a teen boy on a bike Saturday night in Huntington Park. The June 22 incident occurred on Wilmington Avenue in the 6800 block.
The time was roughly a little before 10:00 p.m., according to Huntington Park Police.
Reports say a car that was speeding struck the boy—identified as 14 years old—as he rode his bike. The driver fled the scene.
A person who was a witness discovered the boy down on the road and saw a vehicle moving fast on Wilmington Avenue. According to police, the witness did not see the impact of the crash, but they think the vehicle that was speeding was the one that struck the boy.
According to reports, the boy’s condition is critical. The types of injuries he suffered have not been reported.
