Man Identified as Pedestrian Killed in Huntington Beach Crash
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (July 1, 2020) – David Stame was identified by the Orange County coroner’s office as the pedestrian who died in Huntington Beach after being struck by a vehicle. The June 26 incident occurred on Warner Avenue at the intersection with Bolsa Chica Street.
The time was roughly 11:05 p.m., Matthew Austin said. Austin is a sergeant with Huntington Beach Police.
Reports say Stame had been going across Warner Avenue on foot, and a vehicle–described as a Hyundai Elantra–which had been traveling west on Warner Avenue, hit him.
Responders transported Stame to the hospital. He was pronounced deceased in the hospital. Stame was 54 years old. His city of residence has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle was identified only as 66 years old. The name, gender, and city of residence of the driver has not been reported.
Investigators are working to understand what factors contributed to the crash, and why it happened. They are collecting details and information.
