Hit-and-run Driver Kills Man Walking in Hollywood
HOLLYWOOD, CA (April 18, 2019) – A hit-and-run driver struck and killed a man who was walking in Hollywood early in the morning on Thursday. The April 18 incident occurred close to where North Detroit Street and West Sunset Boulevard intersect.
The time was roughly a bit after 1:30 a.m., according to Officer Cervantes. Cervantes is with the Los Angeles Police Department.
The man who was killed was identified only as in his 50s. His name, and city of residence have not been reported. It is not clear from reports where the man had been walking when he was struck, whether he had been crossing the road at the intersection, or walking along the road, or in some other spot.
No details have been reported about the type of vehicle that hit the victim, or the identity or a description of the driver who did not stop to help.
Investigators are examining the information and looking at details from the crash.
