Man Working on Truck Repair in Hemet Dies After Being Pinned
HEMET, CA (August 28, 2018) – An accident on Monday killed a man who had been doing repair work on his truck, according to Hemet police. Officers received calls that an accident had occurred close to San Jacinto Street and Central Avenue at roughly 5:15 p.m.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a man who was in between two vehicles, on the ground. Officers performed CPR on the victim who was not breathing until responders from the fire department could arrive.
The victim died at the scene of the accident. Investigators from Hemet Police found that the victim’s truck had been on the street, parked in front of a house, at the time he was doing repairs on the engine, according to police.
The truck appeared to have started, and jolted forward. That action pinned the victim between his truck and the vehicle that had been parked in front of his truck.
According to police, a person living in the area moved the vehicle that had been parked in front of the truck when officers arrived. This enabled officers to get to the victim.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
