Vehicle Stolen in Grover Beach Totaled When Suspect Crashes into Wall

GROVER BEACH, CA (November 27, 2019) – On Tuesday afternoon, a person who was driving a vehicle that was stolen in Grover Beach crashed into a wall. The November 26 incident occurred close to 5th Street and Atlantic City Avenue.

The time was roughly 2:00 p.m., according to the Grover Beach Police Department.

Reports say the vehicle—which has not been described—was reported to have been stolen from a home in Grover Beach the prior week. Police saw the vehicle on Tuesday, and attempted to make a traffic stop. The driver would not yield, according to reports, and authorities pursued the vehicle.

While fleeing, the suspect driver smashed into a wall at a residence, wrecking the vehicle. The suspect driver fled the scene on foot. A passenger in the vehicle remained inside.

Authorities arrested the suspect driver not far from the incident site. They also took the passenger into custody. Neither person has been identified, including names, ages, gender, and cities of residence.
