San Francisco, CA – Two people were injured in a chain-reaction-type collision involving five vehicles Tuesday morning.

Traffic was backed in both directions of the Golden Gate Bridge at about 8:30 a.m. when the accident occurred. The crash began to take its chain-reaction course on the northbound lanes when a vehicle rear-ended another at about 8:20 a.m. A total of five vehicles were involved in the crash on the northbound lanes. Traffic slowed on the opposite side of the bridge while southbound lane drivers addressed their attention to the accident.
Tow trucks, emergency vehicles and authorities made their way to scene of the accident despite the amount of traffic. Two people were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries and are expected to recover.
The crash scene was moved to Vista Point to allow the re-opening of the affected northbound lanes at about 9:05 a.m.
