Crash on 210 Freeway in Glendora Leads to Road Closure
GLENDORA, CA (February 4, 2019) – A collision which occurred early in the morning on Monday on the 210 Freeway in Glendora led to the route’s closure. The February 4 accident occurred on the freeway’s westbound side, Polizzi said. Polizzi is an officer with the California Highway Patrol.
The time was roughly a little before 3:00 a.m.
Reports say that a vehicle—described as a van—hit the divider in the center of the freeway, close to Grand Avenue. According to Polizzi, it appeared that the person who had been driving the van abandoned the crashed vehicle. The van was sitting sideways on the road and blocking traffic lanes.
The crashed van was leaking fuel onto the roadway. Officials closed all the lanes of westbound traffic for several hours while crews worked at the accident site. Reports say that the number 3 lane and the number 4 lane reopened some time after 6:00 am. The morning commute, which included wet weather, was slowed.
No details have been reported on who the driver of the van was, or what led to the crash. It has not been reported if authorities located the person who had driven the van, or if anyone was injured in the crash.
Investigators are continuing to examine the details and information.
