Woman Killed, Man Injured When Vehicle Swerves onto Sidewalk in Garden Grove
GARDEN GROVE, CA (January 31, 2020) – Late in the afternoon on Wednesday, a woman was killed and a man was injured when a vehicle swerved onto a sidewalk in Garden Grove and struck them. The January 29 incident occurred where Brookhurst Street and Westminster Avenue intersect.
The time was roughly 5:10 p.m., Garden Grove Police said.
Reports say the two victims had been walking on the sidewalk when a vehicle—which has not been described—swerved onto the sidewalk and ran over them. The two victims were trapped beneath the vehicle until a number of bystanders pushed it off of them.
Responders arrived and transported the two people to UCI Medical Center. The woman died in the hospital. She was identified only as 77 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.

A boy three years of age had been in the vehicle when the crash happened. According to reprts, the boy was not hurt, but responders transported him to the hospital to be evaluated.
